First constructed in 1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, this castle has played a central role in the power struggles to unite Japan. Bambed out in 1945, the castle was rebuilt in 1995 and now houses a museum and several public facilities on its grounds.
Hit the observation deck first if you visit Osaka castle tower. The Japanese imperial mood and panorama vistas looking down across Osaka will cause you to gasp without even knowing. Exhibits and films make for a great history lesson at the historical museum inside at the castle.
