USA / Washington / Seattle Hill-Silver Firs /
 volcano, mountaintop

Glacier Peak (10,541 ft/3213 m) is an active and remote, but potentially dangerous stratovolcano which grew atop a high nonvolcanic ridge. It has had a few large explosive eruptions similar in power and frequency to Mount St. Helens within the last 15,000 years. It last erupted probably during the 18th Century. There are hot springs on its flanks.
