Samgwangsa (Samgwang Buddhist temple), meaning "Three rays of light from Buddha", originally known as the Gwangmyoung Temple, was built in 1969 and expaned in 1982. The temple has the capacity to accommodate 10,000 worshipers at once.
The nine-storied pagoda, Daebotap, has 53 Buddhas carved on the eight sides of the pagoda.
