Bat's head marks one end of Lone Beach - a beach to which there is no access, except by boat or swimming through Bats head hole, due to the precipitous chalk cliffs. The other end of Lone beach is marked by White Nothe.
Bats Head hole is swimmable only at low tide and should not be attempted unless you are a confident open water swimmer.
The chalk cliffs are unclimbable due to the fragile rock - anything which looks like a handhold comes off in your hand.
