A gigantic museum which can take a whole day to explore! Has an Imax theatre which displays movies and educational films on a huge screen!

In 1966 Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother dedicated the cornerstone for the current museum building, and in 1968 the doors opened to the public. The "Royal" title was approved by Queen Elizabeth II and bestowed by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in 1987, to coincide with a Royal tour of Canada that year.

  • Admission was free until one of the previous governments decided to cash in on the cow and now it is a "fee-use" service instead of a free-for-everyone public facility (as it should be!). Drop the fees!
