Roman Empire, amphitheater
There is a a replica of the plaque (the original plaque is on exhibit in the Israel Museum in Jerusalem) found during excavations in 1959-63. The plaque displays the words "TIBERIVM" and "TIVS PILATUS," referencing Emperor Tiberius and Pontius Pilate, the governor of Judea at the time of Jesus. This plaque was an important find since it is the only archaeological evidence of Pilate's existence. Most of the 3500 seats were reconstructed, and the amphitheater is regularly used for concerts.
