Terrible brown monstrosity of a mall that has been made over dozens of times to poor effect. Sits on land that used to host a small amusement park (Beverly Park, I believe) and Pony rides (Ponyland). When the parks were closed, many young hearts were broken all over the city.

A great place to people-watch. My grandmother used to drop my sister and I off here when we were kids and she had to see her doctor a block or two away. One afternoon we saw a guy wearing too-snug bike shorts with "Versace" written in huge block letters across the posterior, and a girl we recognized from a Honeycomb cereal commercial was eating lunch with her mom (or maybe her agent) at the food court. What a hoot.

Back in the 1950s, my folks would take me to Beverly Park. They had a pony ride plus a small rollercoaster. I agree. The mall is dreadful. The worst in all of LA. Worst parking lot of any mall. The whole thing should be razed and the amusement park restored.
