A small place with a tiny chapel, part of a once larger parish church which was restored by its priest. In the 19th century, a local landowner tried to develop Lilstock as an industrial centre, with a port and limekilns on the coast. There are some fascinating remains on the beach and in the woods behind. The harbour wall can still be found buried in the shingle.
