Lost GULAG camp, abandoned quarry and common graves. http://www.memo.ru/history/nkvd/gulag/maps/rus01.htm ИТЛ Строительства № 511 существовал с апреля 1951 г. по апрель 1953 г., его управление находилось в пос. Мурмаши Мурманской области. Заключенные, число которых достигало 5400 человек, строили железную дорогу Кица-Печенга-Лиинахамари и железнодорожные ветки к аэродромам ВВС.

"Far from the city and any roads", huh? This place is about 4km from Nikel and 300 meters away from the road. There is obviously some kind of ongoing farming activity there. The map you linked to doesn't show any camps even close to the Nikel area. But hey, if you feel paranoid, then sure, it is GULAG, whatever.
