  • It is nice to read the comments about Sukho. My father is also from there his name Tarlochan S Bindra and he went to Khalsa High School.
  • I was searching Sukho on the Internet and was delighted to read the comments about Sukho by Tilak Raj Sharma and others. I also belong to Sukho and studied in Khalsa High School before Partition. I think I know you Tilak. We use to live in Mohalla Raun near Post Office towards fields (Warian) very close to the School. Raja Sarwar Khan's Hawaili was in rear of our house. I also remember Tirath Singh and other persons you mentioned in your comments. I visited Sukho few years back, But was astonished to see the state of our lovely town where we grew and spent our childhood. Most of the old houses and streets were not recognisable except the Post Office building. It was really nice to meet and talk to Raja Aftab son in law of Raja Sarwar Khan and Sadiq son of Ghumari Sunno but rest of the people were Migrants. I look forward to read more comments by other residents of Sukho. I thank you all for your contribution in expressing your views about our Sukho. All the best and kind regards.
  • I request to the residents of Sukho, or their relatives to input some recent or old pictures of the Sukho High School its main bazaar and some streets on the Internet like Daultalla. I shall be extremely gratefull.
  • Messege for Tilak Raj Sharma; I sent you e;mail before I dont know if you did received that or not. I am presently living quite near to the Post Office Sukho. And I knows almost all those people you mentioned in your messege. Raja Shazad son of Raja Ghulam Sarwar is no more in this word.
  • For the attention of ''RAB Nawaz s/o KARAM ELLAHI. I was delighted to read your message addressed to Tilak Raj Sharma.I am really glad that a resident of Sukho has responded. I remember a gentleman named ''KARAM ELLAHI'' who used to live at the end of Mohalla Ghumaran going towards Railway Station. He had good knowledge about animals problems and people used to seek his advice. If he is your father , then we have lot in common. If you could give me your e-mail then I can share my memories with you about Sukho. Raja Sarwar 's Hawelli (Bathak) and Ghumaran da Mohalla was in rear of our house which was at the corner. I met Sadiq s/o Ghumari ''SUNNO'' and Raja ''AFTAB'' S/o Capt Dadar Khan and son in law of Raja Ghulam Sarwar at my last visit to Sukho few years back. I look forward to your response. Kind regards to your family and friends.

Amolak ram Dutt. My grandfather used to play hockey there. Now me and my family live in nilokheri distt. Karnal(haryana).
  • Hello Puranjay, Nice to know that your family belongs to Sukho. I remember a Dutt family living very near to the Post office. I do not remember the names, But I am sure they were two brothers. Unfortunately the elder one died of high blood pressure or Stroke which were not very common or diagnosed in those days. We lived on the other side of the Post Office, very close to Mohalla Gumaran near the Haveli of Raja Sarwar Khan. I visited Sukho few years ago which was totally a different place compared to what we left in 1947 at the time of partition. Any way the old memories are still with me and will never fade away. All the best. Nice to hear from you, Give my regards to you family. Please keep in touch.

  • Hello sir, my name is Jasneet Bindra. I always used to hear that my ancestors belong to a place called sukho. My grand father's name was Mr. Warayam Bindra he was an Excise taxation officer. I think you might know him or any other member of our family.
  • Dear Jasneet, Sat Sri Akaal. I am so glad to hear from some one from Bindra family belonging to Sukho. I think I know S.Warayam singh. He was very good friend of my elder brother S. Inderjit Singh bindra who was Civil Supply Inspector. They also studied together in Rawalpindi college. If any of your family member remembers my elder brother and my presumption is right, then we have lot in common. Please let me know if you know or in touch with any other family who were resident of Sukho before Partition in1947. Please keep in touch. Many thanks for your response. May Waheguru ji bless you and your family.
  • Sat Sri Akaal Tarlochan Singh Ji. I am Warinder Singh Bindra from Calcutta, India. I have a strong sentimental attachment with Sukho as my father Darshan Singh Bindra who is now 75 years old was born in Sukho. My grandfather was S. Partap Singh Bindra. He was in British Army. after World war II he got job in Railways at Bhagalpur Bihar. My father still has the memory of their house which was near Post office. House of Raja Sarwar was on the opposite side. the nearest landmark was "Rurhi"(dust bin vat).Do you have any remembrance of my grandfather or father. You reply would be eagerly awaited. Regards.
  • Dear Warinder, Sat Sri Akaal. Thank you very much for giving detailed information about your family back ground. Honestly I do not remember your father or grandfather because in those days lots of people did not use their surname. I know lots of people who lived near the Post Office. They were mostly from Rekhi family and the most senior member of that family was s.Jodh Singh who had a shop and also lived nearby. His grandson Amrik singh was my best friend and class fellow and younger brother was Dhanwant . They migrated to Kaunpur and settled there after partition in 1947. Even the Postmaster was S. Jiwan singh Rekhi and their family settled in Dehli. My father S. Harnam Singh bindra also served in the World War 11 and was awarded the title of Sardar Bahadur O.B.I. when the war ended. Raja Sarwar's Haveli was in rear of our house which was situated in so called (Mohalla Raun) while going out towards fields (wardian) and big Pond called (Raun da Sar) where people used to take bath after using the fields as open toilets. I studied in Khalsa High School up to March,1947. If you have any memories of the school or any other family please do share with me. Thanks once again for your response. Best regards to you and you family.
