  • It never fails to move me how the view from high above can inspire awe. From there, we can grasp our insignificance in the grand scheme of things. Yet by our very insignificance, our uniqueness, our preciousness become all that much more magnified. In the millennia to follow there will not be another one like you or I. We who knew Mrs. Abanilla well are saddened that there will never be another spirit like her. We who were sundered by bereavement and inadequacy and loss cannot enumerate her virtues, her innate nobility of spirit like items on a shopping list. She was a rare person. According to her lights she lived with quiet nobility. And how many of us can say that? She had LIFE in her even when she felt her mortality ebbing away - and not just a timid predilection of existence like the rest of us. She was aware of its value. She accepted it completely, calmly, in all its measures. She gazed at the dread Gorgon's face unafraid - and having looked without fear or duplicity, she ultimately survived, and was ennobled. Because she never lost her compassion or her sense of humanity. So "talibeybeh", I am only marginally sorry to say you are a pygmy of a person compared to Mrs. Abanilla, a thousand pardons to pygmies. I am sad to note that your post is reflective of your blackened spirit and the bankruptcy of your character. I cannot even summon disdain for you because that would be a waste of emotion. But not entirely - I do feel pity for someone as compassion-challenged as yourself.
  • I am so proud being a product of San Lorenzo School! I have great respect to all the people behind the success of this school! Mr. Francisco Abanilla & Mrs. Zenaida Abanilla, i salute you! I started my schooling in this school when it was still Quality Kindergarten & Grade School circa 1987. I was with the 7th batch of graduates for the Primary Level. I also spent my 6 years of Elementary education here. I was in Grade 2 when it was renamed San Lorenzo School of San Pedro in honor of the First Filipino Saint, St. Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila. I give my kudos to Mrs. Zenaida Silos, my mentor in English from Grades 5-6. She is the reason why i have good english communication skills and also the training i had with SANLO in terms of writing and speaking english was the best! Do you remember SRA and the Formal Theme Book? I'm sure you do! I left the school on 1994. One year after they opened their Secondary Level. I wish i was with that batch! But nonetheless, I will always be proud of being a San Lorenzonian!
  • I have 5 kids who have attended their schooling from pre-elem up to high school in San Lorenzo. Presently, I still have a kid who will be 2nd year in high school this coming June. My 4 four kids already graduated in college, 3 of whom are now gainfully employed, while the other one who graduated cum laude in UP continued her studies at UP Law School. The other kid who dropped out of college also in UP is a computer genius. I could say that my kids are what they are now because of the good foundation that they got from San Lorenzo: the discipline, the exposure (balance of academic and other activities.
