  • I used to work for the Security Dept while I was enlisted in the navy and stationed on Roosevelt Roads and we used to have an office on the far right of this building as look at it, where we used to review the Customs declarations of the passangers coming in military flights from Jacksonville, but whose plane stopped on Cuba. Those were good times.
  • What year was that? I was here in 1989 for Ocean Venture 1989 (May, we deployed to Saudi in August) I was in the Army, 7th Transportation Grp out of Fort Eustis VA. We had a tent for about three weeks next to one of these runnaways. Very humid. I got pneumonia and was sick for the duration of the mission.
