Alabama's only female institution. Maximum security facility. Named after a famed AL native known for her women's rights work. Completed in 1942 with a capacity of 400, today it usually has over 1000 inmates. It has a Death Row, infirmary, segragation units, and a Chapel built entirely from donations.
