Kalayaan is a municipality in the province of Laguna in the Philippines. It had a population of 20,944 people as registered in the 2010 Census. The municipality was formerly called Longos until 1956 when it was changed to its present name.

Kalayaan is administratively subdivided into 3 barangays:

-Longos
-San Antonio
-San Juan (Poblacion)

  • my childhood was spent there also just like knights33. i have maNY HAppy memories of longos, a sitio of kalayaan. we would pick lanzones the best bunch from kaings being hoisted down by the mamimitas. My tito indo was the one in charge of the picking. me and My brothers would eat some of the lanzones and the rest we willsell on the highway. I still go home once in a while and i miss the town fiesta every june 24 because of the suman sa ibos at lihiya. Wow ang sarap! Happy Fiesta to my kababayans!

  • Kalayaan.... one of the pioneer town of Laguna, were you can find the most ancient way of living. A town which has been left behind by the nearby towns in terms of progress of economy... reason is... the people it self. Despite of all the good resources that they had, because of "Anong Pakialam Ko" attitude, people is contented of what they had . not thinking of how they will improve their way of living. That attitude is being inherited to the new generation resulting non progressive town... if only there would be someone that could held this land......
