Zolochiv (Ukrainian: Золочів, Russian: Золочев) is the town situated near the Udy river. It is the place where Ukrainian Cossacks under leadership of the lieutenant Dinec won the battle with tatars in 1680.

The museum of Grygory Skovoroda (1722 - 1794) is situated in the Zolochiv distinct. He spent last day of his life in Skovorodivka village of the distinct. The Skovoroda's grave is marked with a grave stone with his well-known aphorism - The world was catching me, but had not caught.
