Construction started on 3 May1900; innauguration and sanctifying was done on 9 September 1902.
In 1923, the church was given to "Obnovlentsy" ("Modernizers", a pro-Bolshevik movement in the Russian Orthodox Church); in 1930-1934, the church was gradually destroyed along with a cenmetery next to it.
In 1991, the plot was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church, and collection of donations fro reconstruction of the church started. On 29 September 2004 , innauguration of the reconstruction was held, and on 27 March 2007 the bells of the church were sanctified and put on the belfry. The biggest bell weights 1,300 kg.
On 8 April 2007, the first luturgy was held in the restored church.
The church interior is 600 square meters and can acommodate up to 1,000 people. The total height (cross included) of the church is 40 m.
