  • No city can beat Jammu city, its beautiful city in the country, The people who belongs to Jammu, they are called "Dogra's" and they speak Dogri language. I love Jammu city, Jammu is famous for temples and it is also known as "the city of temples.Jai Jammu, Jai Dogra, Jammu rocks:)Jai mata di....Jammu de longaaa di jai hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  • Gandhi Nagar is according to the over all Indian estimate one of the best residential colonies ever laid. There are various sectors. Most of the plots in Gren belt area are about 9ooo sq. feet, in area and most of the buildings are two story buildings, with servants quarters Garage, front and back lawns, and at least Twenty feet away from the nearest building. There are other sectors also with smaller plots but are well laid out. I have seen Gandhi Nagar colony comming up from as early as 1956-57. It was desolate and desert like, and no one would like to purchase a plot here. Large plots were sold at Rs 1500 by the Government and that too one could if he chose pay in instalments. The First Two buildings that wee built in Gandhi nagar were the Buildings of M/S Shyam Lal and co, at that time Burma Shell agents, and Late Mr. H.S.Bali's house. He was a noble gentleman an engineer by profession working in PHE. His prime quality was that he would never disappoint a person who would ever come into his contact, or would make a request from him. residential houses in from 10 Marlas to more than two Canals of land. Every house is well ventilated and commodious. I once went to New Delhi to find a suitable flat. The first question put to us by the broker was to kjnow whisch part of Jammu we were living. When we told him Gandhi nagar,he said sir, how can you like any of these flats which are like your one or two rooms of your house. Now unfortunately much attention is not being paid to the drainage and other civic facilities. I have hurriedly written these comments on Gandhi Nagar Jammu. More some other time about any part of jammu and kashmir State
