Austurvöllur is a small park in downtown Reykjavík surrounded by the parliament building, the city cathedral, The Hotel Borg and some cafés and a concert venue/nightclub called Nasa. Even though the parliament building is only on one side of Austurvöllur, all sorts of offices belonging to parliament are on the upper floors of most of the buildings around the park. On hot summer days Austurvöllur is a very popular place to go among Reykjavík`s young people.
