7th and S Streets NW entrance of Shaw-Howard Univ Metro Station. Green and Yellow Lines. This subway station opened in 1991 and serves the neighborhoods Shaw and LeDroit Park. It has two entrances, the southerly at 8th and R Streets NW, the northerly at 7th and S Streets NW. It opened in 1991 under the name "Shaw" but "Howard University" was added in later years.
