Construction of the fort "Ino" was started in 1909 at Cape Inoniemi to protect the entrance to the Finnish Gulf along with Fort "Krasnaya Gorka". Itself looked like an imposing fortress - concrete batteries, shells bury, barracks, workshops, boiler rooms and other buildings were surrounded by rifle concreted shaft pillars, adapted for circular defense.
Construction has started from the harbor and the underground railroad. In 1912 started the installation of the first cannon, and in 1917 all batteries, including both turrets and four opened for 12 - inch guns, were completely ready.
The Fort is one of the cultural sites of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1990.
