  • More info on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jabal_al-Tair_island
  • However Wikimapia annotations for an island ~200 km SSE of here claim it is the site of the 30 Sept 2007 eruption. This location agrees with the Wikipedia article's coordinates, and the other island is considerably larger, and differently shaped, than the Landsat photo on the English Wikipedia article. The text and comments on the other island are mostly in Arabic, and may clarify the issue, but unfortunately I cannot read them. So, beware....
  • The other island archipelago 100 km away north is : Farasan Islands. Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farasan_Islands
  • The other archipelago 220 km SSE is: Hanish Islands. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanish_Islands
  • You can use the translator function of Google, copy text and paste. Good luck friend...
