In February 1983, the KRA was commissioned to construct the Equestrian Park for the 1988 Summer Olympic.
After the successful hosting of the Olympic equestrian competitions, the Park was converted to Seoul Racecourse in September 1989 for thoroughbred flat races.
The main facilities of the Seoul Racecourse are as follows:
Track : There are two sand tracks. The inner track is 1600M long, and 25M wide, and the outer track is 1900M long, and 25M wide. The home stretch is 450M long and, 30M wide.
Grandstand : There are 2 grandstands in Seoul Racecourse. Happy Ville can accommodate 35,000 people and Lucky Ville can accommodate 42,000 people. Both grandstands are equipped with various facilities for the convenience of racing fans.
Stable : Juam Stable Area houses about 780 horses, and Sampo Stable Area houses about 680 horses.
Other Facilities : Various facilities such as children's riding arena, hut village, bicycle road, soccer field and outdoor performance stage are in the in-field park for the excitement of visitors.
