Jutland is a part of Lines area. which is used to be British Army Baracks called lines Area. Lines Area consists, Jacob Lines, Jut Lines (probably jut Army rgment), Abecinia lines, Buzarta lines, Tunisia Lines. After 1947 partition, This area used to be a Major population of Mohajir's (Migrants). After partition 1947, Jacoblines and Jutland was used to be residential for High Rank Government officials. Cross the Road of Jutland lines, now area is in Army Baracks and Purely Army use, was acquired by Mohajirs (Migrants) in 1950's decade, Govenment shift these residents to a new development called "Quaid-abad", which is known as Landhi Quad abad. This removal was taken due to short of space for Governor General and there Offices. Governor General of Pakistan was used to live in Governor House (still called governor house) and the vacant area from migrants, used for "Governer General Body Guards" GGBG. After 1947 partition, Karachi was Ended at "Gora Qabrustaan" and Lines area was the End of Karachi and mostly Government officials residents and offices, as Karachi was the Capital of Pakistan that days.

The most prominent personalities lived here, Film Actor Nadeem, Squash Champion Jahangir khan and his father Roshan khan in (Bhazarta lines). 1980's Mr. Zahoor Ul-hassan bhopali with the Help of late Army chief Zia-ul-Haq, design to re-develop Lines area. Because this land was "Gold mine" at the heart of Karachi. Unluckily not authorised and not leased. They decided to take residents land and give them 45 sq. meter plot only. Ms Yasmon Lari desing for this project. They start this project from Jacob lines where houses was average 240 sq yards, so they demolished there houses and got more land, and less to return. As soon as project start, Corruption reached to its peak, and government start auction of this precious land to Business peoples and residents were just visiting Government offices. In that meantime councellor become active as well and they made thousands of "Forge" claims of plot category "A" means house in the same area and category "B" means plot outside lines area.

I was born in Jut Land line, in the Government Barracks. My father was a Government Servant. We had a big family. My five uncles, my Grand parents and we three brothers. Those days were very simple and there were no terrorism. People had less or no money but harmony. I did my primary education in Mader Wala Primary School Jut lines (Actually before partition the lines area barracks were made for the British Indian soldiers and later after the creation of Pakistan these barracks were changed to Government Quarters). The Mander wala scholl was a Hindu Temple made for the dogra Brahman soldiers in the indian Army. Later it was converted to Primary School.I did my year 10 from Government Boys Secondary School Jacoblines No:1 in 1967. The school was about 4 miles away and we used to walk from home to school, where as the most of the girls used to go school in Horse driven Tonga. That awas a beautiful and open area. Saddar was about 15 minutes walk from home. Now I visited the ares in yeat 2007 when I last visited Pakistan. It was entirely change, thickly populated. It was difficult for me to recognise the places I remembered.

I remember when the traffic signals were instaled in saddar in my childhood. we used to go to Muharram Majalis and events with our sunni and shia friends together in Mehfil shah khorasan near Nuamish. Islamia college was also about 3 or 4 miles away from our home. I Islamia college many people like me got admissions in evening classes and searched for jobs in the day time. There was an employment exchange in valika mahal jahangir Road.people seeking job gethered there every morning about 10 or 11 A.M some official from employment exchange used to come outside on terrace and used to announce the vaccancies available that day (the jobs were generaly from govt.offices mainly ldc or uds (lower division clerk) upper division clerk) stenographers and Accounts clerk, accountants etc. when the officials used to announce the jobs candidates standing down stairs waived their cards which were fit to their resume and used to send them with their reference for job interviews. I used to live in Jut Land Lines. My father was Federal Government employee and he was allotted a quarter by partitioning Old Military Barracks. I used to live in Barack 21 quarter number 4 or 21/4). I had to walk to GBSS Jacob lines number 1. The school was about 4/5 miles away and we had to walk as there were no options. Girls (those parents could afford) used to go the GBGS Jacob Lines in horse driven Tonga. I did my Matriculation in 1967. Later F.sc from Sindh Muslim Science College and Bachelor of Engineering from Dawood College of Engineering & Technology (Now Dawood University of Engineering & Technology) . I was on visit to Pakistan last month. I visited Jut lines but now there are a lot of changes. Unfortunately I could not recognised the area. Luckily one of the old shopkeeper recognised me. He directed me all the area where we used to live and play. There were big grounds in those days all covered by the land mafia.
