Edmonds Marsh (Edmonds, Washington)

USA / Washington / Woodway / Edmonds, Washington
 park, birds, birdwatching area, marsh

A city-owned estuary: 23 acres of saltwater marsh. It can be accessed from the north. The marsh ebbs and flows with the tides of Puget Sound. It's a great place for birdwatchers to see birds in their natural habitat. Over the course of a year, 225 species of birds visit the marsh. Asphalt and clay walkways and a wooden boardwalk follow the north edge of the marsh and allow access to four viewpoints, but the western-most viewpoint on the boardwalk is easily the best. The clay walkway is very slippery when wet. Bring binoculars for a better view.

It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
