"In 1953, the U. S. Government acquired 0.13 lease acre from Pacific Lumber Company. The site was used as a radio relay station by the U.S. Air Force. Improvements
included one concrete block building, two wooden antenna poles, and a metal storage van. In 1960, the 0.13 lease acre was terminated and Pacific Lumber Company took title to the improvements. The site is currently being used by Pacific Lumber Company as a communications station."
This was an important AT&T microwave communications link, with line of sight to Eureka.
