This town is where a young Joseph Smith lived while translating the Book of Mormon.
Also this stretch of river is where he and Oliver Cowdrey baptized each other starting
the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

It is very possible that this was never a town, but a small group of family homesteads.
