Pensumil was originally named as Bicolandia Sugar Development Co., Inc. (BISUDECO) and was established as a 4000 tons of cane per day sugar factory in the early 70's. It was operated and ran by the Philippine National Bank (under a comtrollership/VT agreement) until it almost went bankrupt in the late 80's. It is presently owned and operated by the Enrile Group (not related to the senate president) and is now called Penaranda Sugar Mill.

I remember my college days. Together with my 3 classmates in Ateneo de Naga University, in our Environmental Science subject handled by Ma'am Renegado-serrano, we had our struggle working for our final project. We had documented 1 environmental problem exixting in the area. kaya un, picture-picture and took videos from the whole vicinity of Pensumil. I love that adventure. Best regards to Media studies society of Ateneo de Naga University. Neil Dadis
