Mataiva is a coral atoll in the French Polynesian Tuamotu Archipelago. It is located in the Palliser group, and is the westernmost of the Tuamotus. Mataiva Atoll belongs to the commune of Rangiroa. The island has a population of 237 people. Mataiva means "nine eyes" which refers to the nine narrow passages to the inside lagoon.

Mataiva's primary export is vanilla.
