Klyazminskoye reservoir in Moscow region, at the limits Of the Khimkinskogo and Mytishchinskogo regions. Was was created in 1937 as a result of construction af the Pirogovo dam and hydro-electric power station on river Klyazma. It is one of the largest reservoirs in the region. Working volume 27 million cu.m, the area of 16,2 sq. km. Width to 1,2 km, the length of 16 km, depth to 14 m (average depth - 5,5 m). It relates to the system of the Moscow Canal (liaison to the Volga in Dubna); it is connected with the Pyalovskim and Khimkinskim reservoir. It is normally frozen from mid-November to mid-April. It is navigable. It is used for the water supply of Moscow, navigation, water-level control in Klyazma river, generation of electric power. Popular place of leisure. There was on the shore the known tourist complex “Klyazminskoye reservoir”, converted now into the golf and the yacht club, the base of leisure “Troitskoye” with hotels, restaurants, cafe for children, mini-zoo. In the reservoir are caught perch, bream and many others. According to the general plan of the development of Moscow 1971 the reservoir was included in the design of eastern navigable channel, bypass channel around Moscow.
