Chu Dau ceramic, the antique ceramic of Vietnam, was founded and flourished from the XV – XVII centuries in Chu Dau and My Xa, Nam Sach, Hai Duong. It rapidly developed in Ly, Tran, Le, Mac Dynasties. After 500 – year disappearance, the revival of Chu Dau ceramic plays an important role in Vietnam culture’s diversity.

Chu Dau ceramic depicts natural shapes, traditional sense of beauty, high technical level and artistic value of Vietnamese handicraft. Its pricelessness is made of the light glaze, characteristic and ancient pattern and elegant shape.Due to innovation and skill of craft men, these products present the Red River Delta’s civilization and Vietnamese national character. Chu Dau ceramic is characterized by fully 4 features: “thin as paper, pure as jade, white as ivory, echo as bell”. That is the reason why they are well – known as the best ceramic compared with the best pottery GiangTay.
