park, state park
One acre of land was bought by the Connecticut State Park Commission in August, 1917 for $1,200. The summit resembles a stack of hay and is about 600 feet higher than Heublein Tower in Avon, CT. The original deed provided a right of way road to the summit. There is a 34-foot-tall tower at the peak of the mountain.
