  • This is a MUST VISIT place if you are in Semarang. This is a shop that locals and out-of-towners visit before they leave or spend their time in Semarang. This food shop, although famous for selling pressured cooked milk-fish (or the locals call it "Bandeng"), is also famous for selling a vast variety of other foods sourced from all around central java (like the peanuty-sugary sweets from Salatiga which locals call it "enting-enting gepuk"). So if you want to taste the colors and textures of different kinds of foods from central java, there is no better shop to visit than Bandeng Juwana store (toko "Bandeng Juwana"). Oh do not forget to visit the second floor of this store... it serves all kinds of "bandeng" or milk-fish type foods... a good place to try what "Bandeng" is really all about!
