St. Mary's Academy of Caloocan City, also known as SMACC, is a Catholic Filipino School owned and administered by the Sisters of the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM). It was formerly known, as Our Lady of Grace Academy (OLGA) and was renamed to SMACC on December 8, 2000 as the school marked its Golden Jubilee to unify the RVM system schools. SMACC is located at Madre Ignacia Avenue (12th Ave.), Grace Park, Caloocan City.

In 1969, the High School Department transferred to 12th Avenue while the Grade School and Pre-Elementary Departments followed in 1981, leaving the school building to the OMI priests. In response to the challenge to offer quality education, the school decided to undergo PAASCU Accreditation. The Preliminary visit was conducted in 1983 and its formal visit was in 1985. In 1988, the school was granted five-year accreditation which was followed by two more revisits, in 1994 and in 1999.

When BEC 2002 was launched by Dep-Ed, SMACC’s curriculum was re-engineered to adopt the Basic Education Department which reflects a continuous and sequential development from Grades 1 to 10. The Grade School was renamed Lower Basic Education Department (LBED) and the High School, Upper Basic Education Department (UBED). SMACC keeps rising to the challenge of excellence in the context of providing a Catholic Ignacian Marian education. During the school year 2003–2004, the school worked for a certification of its quality management system. On June 25, 2004, the institution was awarded an ISO 9001-2000 certification. SMACC is the first ISO certified school in the entire Caloocan.

With the Catholic Church and through the patroness of Mary and the inspiration of Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo (the RVM foundress), SMACC stands out in today’s world as an institution were the promising future of every child begins and a school that spells a difference among other schools.

  • SMACC and Notre are like sister schools -- both are Marian schools. In addition to that, both schools are administered by Marian congregations -- Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) and Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM), respectively. Please take note that both OMI and RVM are members of Notre Dame Educational Association, as RVM also administers two Notre Dame schools -- Notre Dame-RVM School of Cotabato and Notre Dame of Makilala in N. Cotabato. No reason for rivalry guys! Just show people you come from classy Catholic schools. Ditch the cheap, foul languages.
