Moscow Kremlin (Moscow)

The Moscow Kremlin is a complex of historic buildings used by the highest offices of the Russian government, built in the historic central fortress of Moscow. It also includes several cathedrals. Often referred to as "The Kremlin", the term is often used to refer to the government of Russia. "Kremlin" is a generic word that, when not capitalized, refers to the central fortress that exists in many older Russian cities. The complex overlooks the Moskva River (to the south), Saint Basil's Cathedral and Red Square (to the east) and the Alexander Garden (to the west). The complex serves as the official residence of the President of Russia.
