this is a regional airport located in khamis mushayt. not hamis. it is located in the asir region meaning upland or mountain region of the kingdom of saudi arabia. this is the only place in saudi arabia where the climate is warm to cold. it is never hot here. it known as the summer capital of saudi arabia. during summer, most saudis and arabs flock here to avoid extreme heat on other parts of the country. this also serves as transit point for mecca hence not far from it.
