The Algonquin Radio Observatory occupies a 100 hectare site in the North East of Algonquin Park. The observatory includes Canada's largest radio antenna a 46-m (150-foot) dish antenna used for radio astronomy and deep space network (DSN) communication. The site is an active control point for the GPS constellation and also includes an 11-m parabollic antenna and a mirowave horn instrument which are not currently in use. Operated by Thoth Technology Inc., the observatory is accessible from the Sand Lake Gate park enterance and offers tours and accomodation for astronomers and visitors.
