On January 10, 2013 President Obama signed legislation elevating this to a full national park. It now becomes California's ninth national park.

  • Boy Scout Troop 447 was here 2-3 times.
  • the other half of Pinnacles is still in the mountains around the grapevine. The park was bisected by the San Andreas Fault. The southern pinnacles are degraded and on private property.
