In 1994, from Belarus (airfield Baranovichi) Engels was transferred to the 203rd Aviation Regiment of the Guards Orlovskiy. In 2000, aviation regiment moved to Ryazan, on the airfield Diaghilev.   • Part of the 37th Air Army includes two (2) heavy bomber divisions of both the Tu-160 (NATO: Blackjack) and Tu-95MS (NATO: Bear) aircraft. In additon to these, the army includes four divisions of TU-22M3 (NATO: Backfire C) bombers. The 22nd Guards Heavy Bomber Division is based here at Engels in Saratov Oblast.
