The Task Force Smith Memorial located at Jukmiryeong, Naesammi-Dong, Osan-City Kyonggi Province. The Battle of Osan 5 July 1950, The First Battle of The Korean War. Erected by the Kyonggi provincial office on 6 APR 1982. LTC Charles Bradford Smith and a 540 man battalion, Companies B and C, 1st Battalion, 21st REGT, U.S. 24th INF DIV plus Unit A, 52nd Artillery Battalion, 24th INF fought the 5th REGT of the North Korean Army 4th INF DIV. They were engaged in battle six hours and 15 mins. July 2000 was 50 years.
