Duke Ellington Bridge (Rock Creek Park) (Washington, D.C.) | panoramic view

USA / District of Columbia / Washington / Washington, D.C.
 panoramic view, bridge

A tall, ornate, concrete arch bridge across Rock Creek Park, this is the traditional gateway to Adams Morgan from the upper NW.

As a result, the adacent Woodley Park-Zoo Metro station on the west end of the bridge was recently renamed Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan.

Adams Morgan is on the east end of the bridge; Woodley Park is the neighborhood to the northwest.

The two communities are divided by Rock Creek Park, a deep ravine.

Both neighborhoods are uphill from the bridge, which is a level bridge high above the park. It has an excellent view of Taft Memorial Brige to the south, and the National Zoo to the north.
