The forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye is a forest of 3500 hectares, which occupies a loop of the Seine river, located 20 km west of Paris, between Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Maisons-Laffitte and Achères Poissy. It belongs entirely to the municipality of Saint-Germain. Plants represented mainly by oak (53%) and beech (18%). The forest is now surrounded by urban areas and highly fragmented by channels of communication: highways, A14 partly buried, railways.
