This is the site of the former Lambton Lion Park. A 200 acre Safari & Leisure Park which opened to the public in 1972 and closed during the 80's. The old tracks and roadways can still be seen on the site. The North East Aircraft Museum was also located within the park but was later re-located to Sunderland Airport (now Nissan NMUK motor manufacturing) where it is still located today.
