Hi I am K Balaji.Our house was located near lalakaman tank. I was born and brought up here (for 23 years) I left this place 18 years ago (iam 39 now). My child hood was spent playing at this location. There was no tank then. It was built only in the year 1985-86. There was a school and a park. They were called lalakaman park and school. There was a KAMAN (Arch built in stone) at the entrance to the area. Hence the area is called lalakaman. The kaman was dismantled when the tank was built,as it was obstructing lorries carrying building material, they promised that it will be built back, but it did not happen. The old ARCH built by a person by name Lala was gone for ever. In my early child hood there were plants and even a fountain here. In my later child hood there were none, but the play ground. There was a well in the park, but it was later filled up with mud. There were stories making rounds about ghosts in the park. As children we never entered the park at night. Now they say they enjoy drinks and other things here during nights. The area had cemented roads and was neat and clean. Now it resembles a slum. These areas were bastions of middle class people, with hindu muslim brotherhood. There are no clashes even now, but the entire area looks like a slum. I love this place, it has a place in my heart for ever, but don't like to go there any more.
