Northam is a town in Western Australia, situated at the confluence of the Avon and Mortlock Rivers. Home to an estimated 6,548 people in 2016 it is the largest town in the Avon region. It is also the largest inland town in the state not founded on mining. It has been founded in 1833.
Northam is located 96km North East of Perth in the Avon Valley. Among others the Dutch were one of the first immigrants who set foot in Australia in the late 1940 and 1960s.
