The Prince Edward Theatre ( www.cheaptheatretickets.com/london/prince-edward-theatr... ) opened in 1930 down the bustling side-streets of Soho but didn't see much success with its stage shows. In 1936 it was renamed as the London Casino, hosting caberet and variety shows and finally becoming a hit. In 1954 the Prince Edward was transformed into a cinema, hosting the popular films of the time including 2001: A Space Odyssey for a full year! In 1978 the theatre finally began hosting musicals and plays, with shows such as Evita, Mary Poppins, Jersey Boys and ABBA musical Mamma Mia! becoming successful.
