The meaning of this barangay "Maniboc" is to blow or to produce air, since the source of living here is the making of bagoong. The melting equipment in the making of bagoong is manually blown to produced heat and since the purpose of blowing is to inject air, about 95% in the industry were affected with air in the head that resulted to braggartness. This place is the only City among the barangays of Lingayen, the capital of Pangasinan. The other product of Maniboc City, is the best producer of quality "bagoong" salted fish.Dito nakatira si Mayor Casta asawa ng bayan.

  • Maniboc city is the worst barangay with no improvement so it can not be called city. I should be named apulyanan na barangay and atrasado ed aliguas.
  • maniboc got its name from the word "siboc", a term to blow air during the process of making gold and siver jewelry. these jewelers called "plateros" are still active in maniboc.
  • the place was called a city, many years ago, during the time of our great- grandparents. that was the period when the fishing in lingayen gulf, made the people well-off. there were many tacsay, tangcoc, and carucor (mode of fishing). fish products include "bagoong" and caling". during fiestas, two (2) orchestras provide music during the coronation night of miss maniboc. every household, ay may handa, marami, and many guests were always welcome. yong magtitinda ng mani during the fiesta, may bayad ng 5 peso bawat isa, para mas masaya ang okasyon. dahil dito, ang mga kapit-barrio, tinawag ang maniboc CITY. ask ang mga lolo't lola natin.
