This former abbey Benedictine is one of the main testimonies of baroque art in Nice. His construction lasted more than a century, from 1650 till 1757. Drawn by the architect of Nice André Guiberto, she replaces modest one rectangular church of the name of saint-Marie du Château. Classified as "Historic Monument" since 1906 and seat of the diocese of Nice, the cathedral is completely dedicated to the boss of the city, the young holy martyr Réparate, from whom the body beheaded, placed in a boat, derived since Palestine to be pulled at the bank by angels. It is moreover the religious explanation of the name Bay of Angels. Inspired of the church saint-Suzanne of Rome, it presents a plan in Latin cross with a dome to tiles varnished by Genoese style. iIts facade is severely ordered and balanced with a triangular front wall. Its bell tower was added to the 18th century and its facade renovated in 1824 with the ornament of four niches. Inside, ten chapels; in one of them, the high altar in the glory of saint Réparate the rests of which rest in the cathedral since 1690. Without forgetting the balustrade of the marble choir, three organs, the golden friezes and the stuccos of the Italian artist Pietro Riva.
