Candi Cetho, located in Gumeng, Jenawi district, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, at an altitude of 1400 m above sea level. Candi Cetho is a Hindu fertility temple built on the slopes of the mountain Gunung Lawu, about 35km east of Solo (Surakarta) in Central Java, Indonesia. Built in the 15th century, Candi Cetho has some similarities with the nearby Candi Sukuh. It has nine levels and a very large phallus-like statue.
Until now, the temple complex is used by local residents who are Hindus as a place of worship and popular as a place of retreat for religious believers among native Javanese / Javanese beliefs. In this temple there are also Suddhamala reliefs that tell the story of Sadewa when purify Goddess Uma.
