Site of King's Springs and the original location of the Birmingham Zoo. The WPA-built amphitheater hosted Birmingham's semi-centennial pageant in 1931. Now home to the Avondale Branch of the Birmingham Public Library as well as a pond, rose garden, picnic areas, tennis courts and athletic fields. The Avondale Villa on the upper part of the park has recently been restored as an event venue.
