As of January, 2010 this storied lot was purchased and renamed RED Studios Hollywood. From 1984 until then it was Ren-Mar Studios.

Independent rental studio, famous for being the filming location of "I Love Lucy," "Lizzie McGuire," "The Golden Girls," and Britney Spears' music video, "Lucky" - among many other things.

Also was known as Motion Picture Center Studios, as well was one of the three studios owned by Desilu Productions (Lucy Ball and Desi Arnaz). Was originally a part of the Metro Studios (back lot #3), which spanned 4 city blocks. Metro was one of the precursors of M-G-M.

This studio masqueraded as Maroon Studios in the classic animated film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," Kinograph Studios in the Oscar winning hit movie "The Artist," and Belmont Pictures from an episode of "The Andy Griffith show." This studio frequently poses as other studios for TV and film.

History:

1915: Was Back lot #3 of Metro Studios
1946: Construction of sound stages for what was Equity Productions
1947: Renamed Motion Pictures Center Studios
1953: Desilu Productions signs a 10-year lease and in 1956 the lot became known as Desilu Cahuenga (to distinguish it from the other Desilu studios). Massive reconstruction turned it into a state of the art television production plant.
1960: Paramount subleases the plant for it's overflow television production.
1967: Sold to Paramount's parent, Gulf and Western
1969 or 1971: Purchased and operated as Cinema General Studios.
1974: Television Center Studios.
1984: Purchased and renamed Ren-Mar Studios continuing a tradition of quality sound stages for rent in the heart of Hollywood.
2010: Purchased and renamed RED Studios-Hollywood, a division of RED Digital Cameras, a premier film camera manufacturer (owned by Oakley founder Jim Jannard).
